Job description

Manage product configuration, engineering changes, and regulatory compliance across advanced aerospace systems while ensuring traceability and operational excellence.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain product configuration baselines for aircraft systems, subsystems, and components

  • Manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Engineering Change Requests (ECR) from approval through implementation

  • Control engineering drawings, specifications, technical data packages, and product documentation releases

  • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), parts lists, and product structure hierarchies

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, design data, test records, and as-built configurations

  • Lead Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and evaluate proposed changes regarding technical impact, cost, schedules, certification, and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate change implementation across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance teams

  • Manage engineering deviations, approvals, and track the effectiveness of implemented changes

  • Ensure configuration management processes comply with aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements

  • Support certification activities with regulatory authorities including FAA, EASA, and related compliance documentation

  • Maintain conformity records supporting continued airworthiness and assist with internal and external audits

  • Support and manage Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and integration with ERP systems for manufacturing and supply chain processes

  • Generate configuration reports, metrics, and dashboards for program management

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, flight test, certification, program management, and suppliers to ensure alignment across product lifecycles

  • Support manufacturing activities through effective management of As-Designed and As-Built configurations

Job requirements

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Proven experience managing product configurations for aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, or aerospace systems

  • Minimum of 3 years of configuration management experience within the aerospace or aviation industry preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Engineering Change processes and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)

  • Experience supporting aviation certification programs such as FAA and EASA is considered a strong advantage

  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles, processes, and best practices

  • Knowledge of engineering drawing standards including ASME Y14.5 and ISO standards

  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and ERP systems integration for BOM management

  • Working knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, avionics, and propulsion systems

  • Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Good English language skills (written and spoken); German is desirable

  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship required)
