Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of on-premises cloud infrastructure and internal project services.

  • Design, develop, and maintain modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, including planning, state management, and version control.

  • Drive automation initiatives by developing and optimizing tools and workflows with Python, Bash, and Ansible.

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of Ceph Storage environments through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.

  • Embed security best practices into infrastructure operations, including vulnerability analysis, SAST, access control, two-factor authentication, and VPN technologies.

  • Define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs), take responsibility for Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and align Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with relevant stakeholders.

  • Share your expertise through documentation, knowledge transfer, and mentoring while supporting other development teams in solving complex technical challenges.

  • Actively contribute to improving engineering practices and modernizing the technology landscape.

Job requirements

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Technology, or a comparable field. Alternatively, relevant technical training combined with professional experience in infrastructure, networking, or DevOps.

  • A strong Everything as Code mindset and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Cloud-Init.

  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana, including metrics, dashboards, and alerting pipelines.

  • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux environments, networking, databases, Git, and CI/CD integration.

  • Experience in software development and debugging using at least one programming language.

  • An analytical, solution-oriented approach and the confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team.

  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across interdisciplinary teams or matrix organizations.

  • Very good German and good English communication skills.
