Job description

Lead and drive software testing and validation activities for innovative defence solutions while ensuring the highest quality standards throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead a project-based testing team within the defence domain and coordinate all relevant verification and validation activities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for software products

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor both manual and automated testing activities

  • Design and execute system and acceptance tests based on functional, technical, and operational requirements

  • Ensure high quality standards across all phases of the software and product development lifecycle

  • Introduce, optimize, and continuously improve modern testing methodologies, tools, and meaningful test metrics

  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, product lines, and development teams to ensure successful product validation

  • Support the continuous improvement of testing processes, quality standards, and testing frameworks

Job requirements

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related STEM field, or a comparable technical qualification.

  • Strong experience in software testing with a deep understanding of verification and validation processes.

  • Hands-on experience with functional, acceptance, and performance testing.

  • Solid knowledge of IP networking concepts including IP addressing, routing, switching, and wired and wireless communication technologies (Ethernet, VHF, UHF, LTE, SatCom).

  • Experience working with the V-Model XT and ideally familiarity with ISO 29119 testing standards.

  • Practical experience with ALM and test management tools such as Jira/Xray, IBM DOORS, or similar platforms.

  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.

  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.

  • Analytical and structured working style combined with a strong customer-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to solve problems effectively in complex project environments.

  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to undergo a security clearance process where required due to work within defence or critical infrastructure environments.
